It seems that no place is “safe” when it comes to your personal information. Cybersecurity is here to stay and we all have to do what we can to protect ourselves. The threats can come from many places: through our phones, our computers, our tablets. Many of us have had the unfortunate situation where our identity has been stolen by hackers online or by theft of a laptop or wallet or even mail out of the mailbox.
At Stevens Wealth Management, we’ve hired professionals who regularly monitor our systems. We even had them do an “ethical hack” to see where we might have vulnerabilities. The SEC requires firms to have policies about cybersecurity. Custodians, like Charles Schwab, have increased their security measures and have close ties with the FBI for tracking and prosecuting cybercriminals.
